[She is literally the best behaved giant squid creature, it is her.

Thida nods.]</small< Mhm! Still in Ecruteak! Might go this weekend, though, but still here!

Where to next? I wanna see the squid and the mop marauder before they go!

Place with the bird badge? Heard there's bird badge. [But she bounces a little at the prospect of seeing a friend.] Yeah, you can! I can hang out! Where?

Yeah! We're going to the bird gym, too! Dunno when, though.

Prob'ly better t'go when it's warmer, but, I wanna go, so I'll go.

[It doesn't take him long to get to the base of the tower, where he begins waits - as always - practically vibrating with impatience. Someone's forced him into a green sweater that clashes pretty horribly with his orange pants, but Krieg's never been the king of fashion, so it is what it is. He doesn't really like wearing shirts, but he hates being cold even more, so it's an uneasy compromise.

When he spots Thida approaching he perks up visibly and waves. Murder Chicken perks up and waves too, while Torch Dragon, the black-and-red Charizard, attempts to hide bashfully behind Krieg's legs. He's only partially successful due to his size, but the effort is a valiant one.]

[It doesn't take too long for Thida to show up, and Krieg can spot her easily - or, he can spot Maika easily. The Pokemon nearly has a foot of height on Thida, and it floats to get around to boot, so he'll at least see the Pokemon first before he sees the trainer, who's bundled up against the cold herself. Her eyes brighten when she spots Krieg and his team, and she hurries over, practically bouncing on her heels.]

Hi! Like your sweater!

[She is in no way a fashionable person either, Krieg, not to worry.]

It's a present from Angel!

[And a couple of other people, technically, but Angel is the important one. It really helps to remember who it's from, because he hates wearing it. It actually fits him quite well, even despite the breadth of his shoulders, but for someone as unused to wearing shirts as he is, even a well-fitting sweater feels restrictive.

BUT! That's not super important at this point, because there is Maika, in all her squiddy glory, at a perfect distance (close up!) for Krieg to admire.]

The squid looks even more badass in person!

[Oh - Angel! The girl with the pink thing who she talked to about Judd. Yes, that's her, right? Thida nods, smiling.] Good for keepin' warm!

[Maika floats a bit closer, holding her head up proudly. Oh yes, she's incredibly strong-looking, and proud of it! She and Thida are going to be the best squids in the world, it's so true.]

Got so strong! 'S great! Other people look at her scared, but, she's not scary. [Shrug.]

Mnahahahaha! Almost as good as fire!

[There are times where he misses his ability to literally set himself on fire with a minimum of damage, and most of those times line up with extra cold, snowy days. It doesn't bother him overmuch on an average day, though...which is probably for the best.

He meets Maika's proud gaze without fear, grinning widely under his mask. He remembers the tiny little squid he and Murder Chicken fought alongside on Halloween, full of piss and vinegar and determination. Now her outside matches her inside!]

Saw a squid like her, a while ago. It's trainer was scared shitless!

[He shifts his gaze back to Thida with a shrug.]

Dunno why, though.

Mm! Or heaters!

[But let's not...think about little portable space heaters in freezing, rickety houses, huh? Even if for a very poignant winter one was her only companion.]

Scared? That's silly. Lotsa scarier things than big squids.

Mnahahahah! Like ME!

[Or, well. He was a lot scarier on Pandora. Here in Pokemon land, he's more of a harmless crazy guy than anything else.

But, oddly enough, he's more than okay with that.]

Seen anything else scary around here?

[She'll just grin quite wide at that. Krieg doesn't scare her, but if he'd like to be scary, then she won't spoil his fun.]

Naaah. Not yet! Guess my Pokemon're kinda scary? But 'm not scared.

[His one visible eye lights up at the remark about her other Pokemon.]

What other monsters do you have?

[He's only ever seen Maika!]

Aah! Wanna see? Can show you!

[Her face is all lit up now too.]

[Well, now it's a competition to see who can light up more, because he's even more excited by her offer.]

Yeah! Show me, show me, I wanna see!

'Kay!

[IT'S NOT A COMPETITION IF THEY'RE BOTH HAPPY but yes she is pulling out those Pokeballs, tossing them up into the air.] Come out!

[Out pops a Luxray, a Granbull, a Salazzle (who promptly curls up and shoots Thida a withering look) and...a Paras. The last one she scoops up in her arms as Maika goes over to stand next to her teammates.]

Got Rase, [She holds up the Paras,] he's not scary. But, Judd's scary - [The Luxray yawns, tail whipping about as he regards Krieg and his Pokemon,] - 'n Buru's scary - [The Granbull puffs out her chest proudly,] - 'n Yuto's scary...'n a butt.

[The Salazzle reacts to that by making a disgusted noise and rolling her eyes. Someone's clearly not impressed - but overall, Thida's right, most of her team is fairly intimidating on their own. So strange for such a tiny girl.]

[Oh, snap, look at all the awesome monsters! Krieg hardly knows where to look first, because each one is more awesome than the last...! He takes in the sight of each one as she introduces them - Judd and Buru each kind of remind him of skags...Far less ugly skags, but the resemblance is there nonetheless. Yuto...kind of looks like a butt, even without Thida's helpful description. And Rase...]

It's a mushroom? Mushroom bug?

[Even as he asks he's crouching down to hold a hand out to Buru. The Granbull reminds him of Dukino the most, and he definitely wants to pet her if she'll allow it.]

[She'll allow it - out of all of the new faces, she's the one who seems the most curious about Krieg, tilting her head a bit into his hand so she can still see that sick mask.]

Yeeah! Found 'im! 'Dex says, th'mushrooms make you sick? So can't eat 'em. But, he's real good 'n happy all th'time.

[Oh heck yeah, all the head pats and ear scratches for Buru! This is definitely a good opportunity for her to get an eyeful of Krieg's mask, because for the moment his attention is split between her and Thida - so she can examine it at several angles.]

How's it fight?

[It's definitely easier for him to work out how some pokemon fight over others. Judd and Buru are pretty obvious to him, and even Yuto seems fairly self-explanatory. Rase is so small and squishy-looking, though...maybe spores? Mushrooms on Pandora were excellent at vomiting spores.]

Um...can scratch? 'N makes powders. Those make y'sick!

[It's pretty badass, but he's not really much of a fighter - he's noticeably weaker than the others, but still seems just as happy.]

[Oh, hey, he guessed it! Neat!]

Sounds badass!

[You know what, he has two hands, he can keep petting Buru's head with one and reach up with the other to proffer a surprisingly gentle exploratory finger at one of Rase's claws, so that is what he does. Hello, small mushroom bug!]

[You are petting Buru so good, Krieg, she looks so happy that Judd's perked up a little, deeming this new human worthy of his curiosity. Rase, on the other hand, tilts his head at the offered finger before gently reaching out with a claw to it. Hello large yelling man!]

Yeeah! Doesn't battle lots, though. He's a lil' slow. But, 's okay.

That's okay! The Mud Pony's slow, too.

[He lets the Paras hook its little claw around the tip of his finger, which he then wiggles very gently, causing the small creature's entire limb to move up and down with the motion. Once that introduction is well in order, he just as gently disengages the little hooked claw to reach out to say hello to Judd, whose interest he has since noted.]

He stays inside with Angel a lot. It's fine if he's happy.

Mm. 'S important t'be happy.

[Judd isn't as outwardly eager to be petted, but he does let Krieg do it, purring softly. It's not like he likes attention or anything, baka.]
