[Armin's voice sounds slightly thin, like someone trying to force a hoarse voice to be even and neutral, trying to keep far too many emotions at bay and, quite frankly, not being all that successful at it.

Which means that Krieg probably already knows exactly why Armin is calling.]

[Oh, boy does he know. He doesn't really want to answer but he knows Armin is definitely feeling at least as shitty as he is, so, he does.]

[Does his voice sound super ragged and strained, like maybe he just finished yelling a whole bunch? You bet it does!]

[We are all feeling shitty on this terrible, unblessed day.

And honestly, Armin'd get not wanting to talk. He doesn't really want to talk. He wants to tuck away somewhere private and quiet and yell into his knees. And maybe definitely cry. But he needs to make sure of a few things first. And that does necessitate the exchange of information via an oral medium.]

[Which is putting it very mildly, but to be honest, Armin doesn't even have any better words for it. He's too tired and hurt to think of them. And in any case, he doesn't think they'd cover this feeling anyway.]

[Man, look at these good conversation boys converse. They're really straining their devices' abilities to transmit sound, what with all this conversation.]

[Thank goodness that question has a one-syllable answer. But it doesn't feel sufficient, mostly because it isn't.]

[That's still so many unaccounted for. Jean had so many great monsters, and only two came to him. What happened to the rest?]

[Lets imagine they are off roaming the land and living their best life. It might not be true, but it is a nice thought.]

[It's not good that Jean's departure necessitates them having any of his mons, but if he is gone, it's good that Krieg ended up with two of his most precious pokemon.]

How are they doing? Are they-- Is Blitz giving you a lot of trouble?

[And cranky, and Krieg has a couple of new electrical burns to show off, but that's now how he defines "trouble", and anyway, it's Blitz so it's to be expected.]

They're both sad.

I imagine they would be.

Do you think I could send you Magellan for a few days? I'll be out to sea and I won't be able to bring him, and he might be able to cheer up Polo a bit.

[And maybe Krieg too with some well-timed wrestling. Plus Jean leaving has left Magellan pretty down too. He liked Jean! Jean was there when he first hatched!]
