She's tried grooming Lute. She ended up gnawing on his horn. I can't tell if he really minds, or if he's letter her get away with it because he's too hot to move right now.
[ She sends him several, since he did ask in plural. The first is from further away, where Sahara is more difficult to see much beyond her rounded head and her body hovering over Lute's horn. He's lying on his side, relaxed, mane of fur mussed, visible eye closed.
The second photo is from closer, and another angle. Sahara is visibly chewing on Lute's horn, saliva strands connecting her mouth and his horn.
The third is from much closer. Teeth, horn. Teeth not touching horn in this moment, but about to.
The fourth is further away again, mostly of Lute's face as one eye is slit open and he looks at the camera with a "why" sort of expression.
The fifth is actually a short video of this happening, with Lute sighing out a "sol" and Sahara making happy tra-tra-tra sounds while gnawing. ]
Arlert the Hoothoot perched and leaning like a palm tree overhead, at sunset; she and the tree and the beach are all cast in shadows, with the brilliant seas painted in striking scarlets.
Libera the Gogoat daintily balanced on a stone over a slow flowing portion of a river, her reflection captured perfectly along with the brilliant blue of a reflected sky, with a Sobble clutching the saddle horn and peering down at their reflections with wide eyed interest.
A Honedge side by side with a Rockruff, who is studying what the Honedge is drawing in the dirt with a look of complete concentration.
Lute, sleeping with his chin resting in a lap, presumably Annie's.
Jeager the Litleo wrestling with Ackerman, the Primerina, who has him pinned and is staring down at him with a look of censure.
An Aurorus, Hoover, settled into a lake and bathing, with Arlert perched on her back. ]
He takes his time, looking through the pictures, studying the unfamiliar monsters, wondering about their abilities, guessing at their typing...
...And reminiscing about familiar ones. Specifically:]
shield lady had a sword like that. i dont know what happened to it when she left. she left me her spike dog and her wrestle bird.
[He misses Athena, but thinking about her doesn't make him feel gutted the way thinking about Jean and Bert does. He knows she's alive and well on Pandora, even despite Lilith's attempted firing squad. He doesn't know what the future has in store for Jean, but he suspects it's not good. And Bert...
Is there anywhere that even believes in weapons here... it feels like the most you see are knives, and even then I'm not sure anyone can actually order them.
How do they... wait, I know how they cut down trees. Was there something historically that prevented this world from having people develop sensible defense and practical technologies? They have to have plows, no one plants just by hand, but even shovels don't seem that edge-sharp...
