Krieg's starter; outgoing and friendly and not in the least terrified of his gigantic trainer, Murder Chicken's warm and cheerful personality quickly charmed Krieg's violent and bloodthirsty heart, and gave the Psycho something to focus on besides wanton slaughter and endless bloodbaths. Although Krieg took to caring for his new friend fairly quickly, it was a couple of weeks before he warmed up to the idea of actually training the little guy for fighting. After some initial experimentation using himself as the small bird's training dummy, he found that teaching MC to battle was actually fairly rewarding, and - more importantly - Murder Chicken enjoyed the activity.

Even as a somewhat intimidating Blaziken, Murder Chicken is still as friendly as ever, and is quick to make new acquaintances and friends. He even has a Blaziken girlfriend, Annie, and so far they're the proud parents of two beautiful Torchic eggs. Krieg and Jimmy - Annie's trainer - each kept one egg, and Krieg gave the egg he kept to his friend Jean.

Out of all of Krieg's Pokémon, MC is the least likely to retreat into a pokéball. In fact, Krieg threw his original ball away after releasing him from it, not realizing at the time that it should be kept. While some of Krieg's other Pokémon have brought him around to seeing the balls as a type of refuge rather than a prison, he still uses them sparingly, and at the request of his Pokémon rather than through his own wishes.

Krieg received Torch Dragon as an egg from Botan. Initially worried that the resulting shiny Charmander was sick due to its unexpected coloration, Krieg at first attempted to allow it to enjoy its babyhood by letting it do basically what it wanted. However, despite its bashful nature Torch Dragon quickly demonstrated a strong love for fighting, which Krieg was only too happy to encourage.

Torch Dragon blossomed under Krieg's watchful eye, and although he's still quite bashful when meeting new people and Pokémon, he's grown up quite comfortably among the Vault crew, and - like all of Krieg's Pokémon - has a special place in his heart for Angel specifically.

Krieg saw his first Grimer during Team Rocket's Halloween assault on the Goldenrod Radio Tower. The goopy sludge monster reminded him so much of Pandora that he then went out of his way to find one for himself. He brought Slag Stack home several months later after a long and smelly slog through the back alleys of Goldenrod. In fact, he'd gotten himself so filthy in his search that Angel wouldn't let him back inside until she'd been allowed to spray him down with the garden hose.

Slag Stack is a mild and gentle soul who loves being pet and eating stinky garbage. Living with a trainer who provides him with plenty of both of these things has - maybe unintuitively - reduced both the stench he gives off and the dangerous poisonous sting typically encountered when coming into contact with a Pokémon of his species. Because it's difficult to solicit pets when anyone who's brave enough to touch you immediately falls into a poison-fuelled coma.

Although Slag Stack gets plenty of garbage to eat during day-to-day life, Krieg worries that it's not quite enough to keep the massive sludge monster sated. So, once a week (distance permitting), Krieg takes Slag Stack with him to Goldenrod in the wee hours of the morning and the pair spend an hour or two dumpster diving for a feast fit for a Muk.

Rescued by Jean from a life of servitude at the hands of Team Rocket, Spark Ball (sometimes "Beast") took an almost instant shine to Krieg. When the only reaction it received from the large man after zapping him was gut-busting, delighted laughter, it knew where it wanted to be. Krieg was a little slow on the uptake, though, so Spark Ball was on a ferry to Kanto with Jean and the rest of its rescued Electrode brethren before it was finally able to make its wishes about its future known.

Even though it really likes Krieg, it's still kind of a tsundere jerk, and shocks him quite frequently. Since Krieg has yet to react negatively to this occurrence, chances are high that the random shocks are likely to continue far into the future.

Although, to be realistic, the shocks would continue whether or not Krieg approved. His laughter after the fact just means the jolts are actually less painful than they might otherwise be. But only Spark Ball knows that.

Krieg received Whisper Bunny's egg from the grateful Elite Four after the exciting events at the Rocket Prom. The Whismur is the first of Krieg's Pokemon whose potential isn't made at least somewhat obvious by its appearance, and its calm nature has so far delayed the reveal of its dark secret.

Whisper Bunny is a calm and friendly 'mon who likes to cuddle and enjoys having her ears stroked. For several weeks after she hatched, Krieg was content to just let her be a baby. As such, she spent a lot of time in Angel's company, where cuddles, ear strokes, and naps were plentiful. It wasn't until several weeks after she hatched that Krieg discovered her talent for making incredibly loud noises, at which point her name became ironic rather than descriptive. However, just like most Pokemon of her species, Whisper Bunny doesn't spend a whole lot of time screeching, which is a very good thing for the eardrums of everyone - human and pokemon - in her vicinity.

A few months after reaching her final form, Whisper Bunny had a secret tryst with the Aggron belonging to one of Krieg's friends. The surprise coupling yielded six eggs, one of which Krieg kept and later hatched a baby Aron he named Iron Skull.

Iron Skull ("Skully" for short) hatched at the lowest point of Krieg's time in Johto, bringing a welcome bit of cheer into what at the time seemed a very bleak present. Her impish nature and clownish antics were a wonderful distraction both for Krieg, and for Zen Doll the Darumaka who joined the two just a short time after Skully hatched.

As he'd done previously with the Pokemon he's hatched from eggs, Krieg gave Skully plenty of time to be a baby before he started training her, although her delay was the longest yet due to her trainer's extended hospital stay. Although no less eager than Torch Dragon and her mother Whisper Bunny to grow and become stronger, Iron Skull is by far the most distractible of Krieg's egg babies. As such, her training sessions tend to be shorter than those before her, though that doesn't bother Krieg.

She seemed to grow out of her distractibility once she evolved into a Lairon, however, and began to grow much more quickly after that milestone. Always large for her species, Skully's size as an Aggron is truly impressive. Unlike a many small creatures that grow from small to large very quickly, Skully has never seemed to have any difficulty adapting to her enormous build. She seems to instinctively know the best way to throw her weight around when it's time to be tough, but is just as gentle as ever when interacting with her trainer, her teammates, and especially Zen Doll.

Gaige brought Zen Doll to Krieg after the Rocket Warehouse explosion in Goldenrod. Ostensibly, the small, quiet creature's blind eye reminded the Mechromancer of her Psycho friend, but it's likely her motives in bringing the two together ran far deeper than simple physical similarities.

Zen Doll's history in the Rocket warehouse is unknown, but whatever he experienced there caused him to retreat into himself. When Gaige first brought him to Krieg in the Goldenrod Hospital, the Darumaka's basic MO was to stare vacantly and to ignore pretty much everything that was happening around it. Since that was also Krieg's MO at the time, the two hit it off and spent many long hours quietly staring at nothing together. Eventually, though, Zen Doll was coaxed out of his shell, first by Skully, whose impish good nature was impossible to ignore, and then by Krieg, in whom he seemed to sense a kindred soul.

Krieg hasn't officially "caught" Zen Doll - the Darumaka doesn't have a pokeball, and is technically still a wild Pokemon, but since his stay in the hospital, where he finally began peeking around the edges of his metaphorical shell, he's essentially adopted Krieg and goes with him everywhere. He has yet to show any interest at all in battling, and unless he does, Krieg will continue toting him around and caring for him with no further expectations.

LC is from one of the eggs produced by Bertolt's Feraligatr, Gizem, and his Tyrantrum, Galliard. He was far too mouthy for Bert to handle, likely so much so that Bert initially had some difficulty finding a trainer willing to take him on.

The very first thing Lockjaw did when he met Krieg was to bite his hand, and it was love at first chomp. Krieg was immediately enamored by the outgoing, squeaking, bitey baby, and barely protested when Bert suggested that the two would make a good team.

Thankfully, Lockjaw grew out of his habit and/or desire to bite anything that moved, especially his trainer, when he evolved into Croconaw. He definitely had a bad scare one time when he was chomping down on some fruit and very nearly chomped down Zen Doll by mistake, and has been very selective about what he puts in his mouth ever since.

Punk Face caught sight of Adorababy as Krieg walked through Goldenrod one early morning, and followed them both home. He has a blatant and unrequited crush on the Sylveon, and made himself at home in one of Krieg's spare Pokéballs in order to ensure he could always be close. He refuses to either be traded or released, and has shown an interest in battling, so Krieg began to train him the way he's trained all his others.

Ostensibly this interest in battling is 100% a ploy to get Adorababy-sempai to notice him, but in the process of training he also developed a solid friendship with Krieg. He evolved into Espeon before Krieg could give him a Fire Stone, because, as his name suggests, he's a punk. Krieg doesn't actually care, since he never had a desire to keep an Eevee or an Eeveeloution in the first place - he's just glad his little punk buddy is happy.

Mud Pony was a ~~Mercenary Day~~ Christmas gift from Athena. As a Mudbray, Mud Pony was never terribly enthusiastic about battling, so Krieg never pushed him further than he wanted to go. As a result, Mud Pony leveled up much slower than his two fire-type teammates, but nobody seemed to mind too much. He spent more of his babyhood in the company of Angel and her Pokémon than he did with his trainer and teammates, far preferring the more quiet environment she provided to the intense atmosphere cultivated by his trainer.

Mud Pony evolved unexpectedly in the heat of battle during the Rocket Prom. Due to his new enormous size, it's impossible for him to cuddlepile on top of Angel's bed now, but the upside is that he's also now large enough to qualify as a bed upon which cuddlepiles can take place, so he's not terribly put out about this turn of events. It's a good thing Krieg finally began using pokéballs a little more liberally, though, because Mud Pony is now far too large to fit inside the Ecruteak Inn otherwise.

Once Krieg began inheriting Pokemon from trainers who had disappeared, Mud Pony began spending more time in the Sevii Islands where Shiro and the AoT kids have taken up semi-permanent residence. He now spends his day grazing lazily and enjoying the sunshine and the lazy life he's always dreamed of.

Of the two pokemon Krieg inherited from Athena, Hermes is the friendliest and most outgoing, and routinely spars with Krieg just like his other heavy hitters. While Krieg has no doubt Hermes misses his original trainer deeply, the wrestle bird's naturally cheerful disposition keeps it from sinking into melancholy.

As the months pass, he's settled pretty comfortably in to life with Krieg, and often participates in the daily free-for-all ~~beatdown bar brawls~~ fights Krieg initiates with his crew.

Ares is far more reticent than Hermes. He will occasionally spar with Krieg and his other teammates but mostly tends to keep aloof. Krieg does his best to include Ares in whatever ridiculous brawls he engages in with his other Pokemon, but he never forces the issue when Ares displays a clear lack of interest. He does occasionally seek Krieg out in his quieter moments, and the two have bonded mostly in this manner. Krieg suspects Athena's departure hit Ares much harder than it did Hermes, and that even now the Lucario is simply biding his time until she returns.

Omi was Jimmy Darling's starter, and was with him for years before Jimmy disappeared. Although he never really interacted much with Krieg while Jimmy was still around, he and the Psycho still bonded fairly quickly once Jimmy was gone - their mutual grief over their missing friend was a strong foundation for their new partnership.

Unlike Krieg's Pokemon, who've all been raised by Krieg from the start, Omi doesn't like to spar with Krieg. He'll play-fight with Krieg's other Pokemon, though, and has been growing steadily under Krieg's watchful eye.

Omi is a stoic-seeming and loyal Pokemon; also sensitive, but in a quiet sort of way. He did his best to comfort Krieg when Angel disappeared, and is very attentive to the Psycho's mood, working hard to cheer him up when he falls into a depression.

Krieg inherited Annie from Jimmy Darling, who inherited her from a trainer named Ib. As with all his inherited Pokemon, Krieg has done his best to accommodate Annie and help her feel at home with his crew. However, out of all his inherited Pokemon, Annie has had the least amount of difficulty settling, largely in part to the presence of Murder Chicken. The two Blazikens were very fond of each other before Annie joined Krieg's team, and that relationship has only deepened since Jimmy's disappearance.

Like Omi, Annie shows no interest in sparring directly with Krieg, although she seems to enjoy watching MC and Krieg go at it. Unlike Omi, she's not particularly interested in fighting with any of Krieg's other pokemon, content to watch during the daily brawls rather than participate.

Fe Fe may not be as aggressive as Deathtrap, or as big and powerful, but Gaige fell in love with the little Bot right away. A loyal and hardworking Pokemon, Fe Fe likes nothing more than to make Gaige proud. The two were inseparable from Day One.

Although it misses Gaige fiercely, Fe Fe is very happy in Krieg's care. It's a very friendly, sweet, and loving 'Mon. It loves to chat and make new friends, and, as a Psychic-type, it knows what Krieg knows, which can be a little disconcerting to folks who are friends with Krieg but who have never met Fe Fe before.

Blitz is aggressive, arrogant, and explosive. He spends most of his time out of his ball despite this, and delights in harassing the other Pokemon in his traveling group or going after any wild Pokemon that dare get too close to the camp. He shocks Jean when Jean displeases him, but has also been known, on rare occasions, to show genuine affection for his trainer.

Blitz has also recently shown a ballternal tendency towards protecting eggs, much to everyone's shock. He's also very fond of Polo and his brother Magellan, maybe because he's using young Pokemon to create himself an army. Soon, the electricity will rain down from the sky and all will kneel before the mighty Ball King!

Polo is now a proud, giant bara cat, who looks uncomfortably like a super buff human wrestler but still engages in cat-like behaviors. Things have gotten awkward since he and his brother evolved. His favorite things include playing with Uncle Blitz, grooming himself on top of Armin's books, and sitting in any box big enough to fit him.

He's also shown an interest in art, which Jean has been encouraging by buying him sketchbooks and markers.

Oku is a strange sort of Pokemon. As one of the Remoraid who schooled around the sand bar Thida was stranded on during 4th Wall, it was a shy creature, but nonetheless one of the only living things to remotely come to her aid during the traumatic experience of being surrounded by a lethal substance. It takes a lot for Oku to warm up to strange people or Pokemon, hesitant to approach, but she's mild and friendly once she gets to know you. However, she does have something of a temper, not taking kindly to being completely ignored or dismissed. Upon evolving, Thida immediately became distressed that her little blue fish turned into a red octopus - basically an Octarian in Pokemon form. Though she hasn't shoved Oku into her PC box, she's very wary about taking her out into battle; Oku can tell something has shifted in Thida's demeanor, but since her trainer won't say anything outright, the two seem to be at odds with each other. Funnily enough, the music she's taken a shine to the most is heavy metal. Oku likes sweet foods, but not spicy ones.

Poko was found on Mt. Mortar during the Dog Days event, trapped under rocks. With Gaige's help, Thida was able to free him, and the little Tepig took to following her around the Ranger camp for the duration of the event, finding security in the young girl's presence. He's shy and nervous, and one of his ears has been permanently bent by his time underneath the rocks, but he's also a very loving Pokemon towards those he is used to. It's possible he's relatively newly hatched and wandered from a nest, given how low his level is compared to what it should be according to observations of Mt. Mortar. He's also something of a glutton, taking comfort in snacks, but is far too shy to root through folks' bags to take their food; might be related to how he got caught on the mountain. Seems pretty cool with most kinds of music. Enjoys sweets, but weirdly enough cannot stand spicy.
